Well, it was another early start for another sunrise. You may be thinking, why does she bother? Well I just do!! Every time you look at Uluru it is different. Colours change, moods change, I change and take it from yet another angle! Decided to try something different today and watch the sun rise at the sunset lookout. Another gorgeous day started after the storms of last night, with pinks and reds and yellows lighting up the sky. There was really low cloud covering the top of the rock, giving it a mystical wig like effect!!! More pics, not that good on the Bluberry but forever imprinted in my brain (and I could always describe them to you.......!)
After a few more pics from different angles (the ones of me and my Hitler tash are really not attractive so therefore may not make it onto the blog until I have phtotoshopped it out.....) one final drive round the base and it was time to bid farewell to Uluru. But not forever I am sure......
So I am all packed up and ready to head back to Alice Springs to spend my last night on this particular road (and rail) trip, before boarding the Ghan again tomorrow lunchtime for the return journey.
Another 444k await me and hopefully no storms or bush fires will intervene today!!!
May not get any wi fi in Alice so my next post will probably be from home in Adelaide, where I can upload and photoshop all the fabulous pictures I just know you are waiting to see.......!!! I will be sad to leave Uluru but not the Germans, Japanese, Americans and various other nations that come here to moan about the heat, the flies, the cost, the wine, the dust and the fact that you cant see the rock in the dark, why cant they floodlight it!!
Take all that away and what you have here is one of the most magical places on earth I have ever been. Up till now...........
Until later my faithful bloggers!
Sounds absolutely amazing and I know Jay would def want to go by train - when we finally get there one year. I know who I will be asking for tips:-) Can't wait to see the pics of the Rock that's for sure, and sounds as though you've got pics in alsorts of colours and weathers. Take care traveling back xx
