Perth Trip Day 2.......

Woke this morning after a very good sleep to rain, but still hot and muggy with enough blue sky to make a sailor a pair or strides so hopefull of a good day ahead.  The Recycling gang left early and I headed out soon after to explore Freo (as the locals call it, not that I have met any yet...)

I did have to make a bit of a detour to the camper place as the fridge in Colin did not appear to be cold.  Was met by the mechanic guy (an Aussie and a nice one!) who put his hand in the fridge and said 'yeah, thats about as cold as it gets....  On further questioning he did say that the longer it was on the colder it got.  He had put some meat in his and it took 3 days to freeze.  I said 'what if you only hire the camper for three days' to which he replied 'dont put meat in the freezer!'  With a cheery wave, Colin and I set off (via K Mart to purchase a small desk fan for the back at night, the best $9 I have spent I can tell you!)

Then the exploring began.  Started with a great tour of Fremantle Prison, really good fun and a fab place, made even better by the two guides, one Northerner and one local!  Bit of lunch at a fantastic food court in the city called Shanghai City, awesome Seafood curry laska.  Did a bit of shopping, couldnt find my purse in one shop and when I pulled out my little packet of wet wipes the guy said 'is that it' to which I said 'no, they are wet wipes, they come in handy, you never know when you are gonna need a wet wipe wash....'  needless to say I got out pretty quick!  The city of Freo was really pretty and had loads of really gorgeous buildings and I had a great time wandering and browsing.  Even in the rain, although it did stop eventually!

Then it was off to find some surfers, and boy did I find them,  The beaches at Cottesloe, Scarborough and Trigg were full of them and a fab sight it was too, sat and watched the sun go down in the rain and it was back to the site for beer and bed.  Thankfully the truck had been replaced by a very respectable looking caravan and the rain kept the campsite band inside!!
