Here Goes with Day 4.....

Well after a great night wandering the buzzing streets of Fremantle it was time to leave and head towards Bunbury, my next stop on the road trip.

Colin and I set off early in serach of Lake Clifton where there are some very very very old things called Thromobolytes to be seen.  Drove quite quickly through Rockingham and Mandurah, no need to stop there again apart from getting a footlong Subway to last me the day!

Then to see the Thrombolytes.  And see them I did, despite the majority of them appearing to be underwater at this early hour.  Still, it did look like the picture in Lonley Planet so I knew I had the right place!

Carried on stopping on route to pick up a Bushman's Pie at Emu's Pie Shop (the pie had kangeroo and venison, thankfully not emu.  Think the shop is named after the emu in the garden rather than in the pie....) soaking up the scenery which was thankfully becoming more like the Australia I know and love, finally arriving in the cityof Bunbury and my rather lovely campsite!

Palm trees and pool, gorgeous lake and friendly staff (especially Mim who helped me out witht he internet thing, bless her!) made it a pleasure after Fremantle Village and I settled into my little space quite nicely!  The is right opposite the Dolphin Discovery Centre so I decided to go take a look and there was a Dolphin spotting cruise leaving in the next half hour so I booked a place.

Fab hour and a half and saw loads of Dolphins, all hearding their fish ready for dinner.  Was fab to see them all swimming alongside the bat, got some great video (if it can ever be recovered from the Blueberry...)

After I had warmed up (there was a harsh wind out there) I toolk a stroll round the town, pucked up Colin and took a very short drive to Lighthouse Beach, one of many on this bit of coastline.  Set out my chair, put the kettle on and had my tea watching the sun set (I never get tired of that) with some very friendly locals who all go down to the beach and enjoy each others company and a good bbq.  I could get used to that!

It was then back to my space by the river with Colin for a good nights sleep.......
