Up early, mainly due to the parrots still mourning the passing of their brother, then off to the beach with Skippy and Sidney to enjoy my morning coffee.
Left Tunby today and set off to my new pad in Port Lincoln, great view andca great pad with potential, if you got rid of the faint smell of fish! Today was about getting back to nature and out in the bush!
I took a drive through the hills, taking in the views and taking lots of picture (sorry, I know they all look the same but they are different places! Still can't get a radio signal so I am listening to AM and some talk radio show. The Aussies are true legends with no taboo subjects or words on the radio, everytime they say bollocks it still makes me smile! I have been following the Australian Open Tennis, The Tour Down Under (cant belive it is on in Adelaide and Im here), know how to grow a certain type of tomato, rose and hibiscus and am generally entertained with their banter. Any hoo back to the bush....
My travels finally bought me to the Glenforest Tourist and Animal Park, a very sweet little place with sheep, osterich, wallabys, camels, birds and obviously kangeroos and a koala. Too cute!! Spent time feeding the kangas but the koala failed to wake up so I just stared at him (Beeky!!) and said 'ah cute' quite a lot. Had a run in with a ram who was very interested in my rucksack, and the food inside, but once Rambo had relieved my of said food he left me alone!
Then, bugger me, if I didnt bump into a friend of Theresa that lives out here, Debbie. She was in Port Lincoln for a few days, staying at the Marine, so it was back there again in the evening for a very nice drinkie with her and her family. Lovely end to the day. Bed then beaches again tomorrow!
Forgot to say (and dont know how to scroll back to the top of the page) although the new pad smells a bit fishy, the view is stunning!
