Back home to Adelaide.....

Well, after 7 days (10 hours driving today) and 1900k in total me, the Ute, Sydney and Skippy have arrived safely back in Adelaide!  Picked up a hitch-hiker on the way home some I had some company!!  Don't panic, I didn't really but I did have a travelling companion, Jaime from Edinburgh who was on the shark day, one of a great group of people I met.  She was heading back to Adelaide so I offered her a lift!  Good company on route which saved me from the lack of radio (we finally got a signal 40k from Adelaide!!)

Did a bit of a detour via a place called Kimba which is halfway across Australia (as the crow flies) and then snuck past a place called Iron Knob  Just because if was call that really!!

We had stopped to take a picture of a road sign (such tourists) and car pulled up with and old guy and his wife in asking for a wheel brace as they didn't have one and they needed to change their tyre before it blew.  I wouldn't have a clue to look and hadn't seen one in the Ute (I did a very thorough  vehicle check before I left of course) so couldn't help.  He just said he would drive off slowly and get to the next town (Port Augusta) that was about 24k away.  Well he drove off slowly at about 100kph and then about a mile up the road the tyre blew!!  Nutter!  He managed to control the car nicely to the hard shoulder (not into the path of the road train coming the other way) and I pulled over to see if they were OK which they were, and then decided to actually look for a wheel brace for them!  Did have one but it was no the right size so after offering to get someone to come out to them when we got to Port Augusta, which they said 'no worries, someone will stop' we left them to it!!

Dropped Jaime off in Para Hills then got back to home, ready for a beer!  Good nights sleep and then beach tomorrow with Carrie and the kids, and hopefully some of the others will join us!

Will be uploading the shark dvd and pics that I got soon so will post them on asap!
