A Lovely Relaxing Saturday........

Its a Bank Holiday Weekend in Adelaide this weekend (no one has any idea why, it just is) so everyone is out enjoying the sunshine, or the air conditioning in the shopping malls!

Did a bit of both!  Met Carrie, Jenn and Daniel for a carbohydrate feast at Spargo's at Marion.  Sat outside  and scoffed chips, wedges and garlic bread followed by something that may sound strange but works - sweet pizza. Mmmmmmmmm!  we feasted on a banana one, which was essentially a banofee pie pizza, and a lovely refreshing mixed berry one.  And I must say it was rather yummy!  We then had a mooch round the shops for some bargains, and then it was back to Carrie's to get stuff together to head to Glenelg.

Even though it was a glorious day and loads of people were out, it didn't seem crowded at all so we strolled down the street and onto the beach to play French Cricket.  You basically have to hot someones legs with a cricket ball and they are not allowed to move their feet, only the bat to protect themselves.  Goes with out saying that I was dreadful at it.  And I was somewhat nervous of my big toe as it is still throbbing from the incident in the shop with Trevor.  Still, I gave it my best shot.

When our hair and clothes were suitably filled with sand we headed off to the Marina to find some dinner.  Plumped for Chinese which was very yummy and after eating my body weight in sizzling seafood, we we were joined by Tracey and Sarah and we headed off in search of the street performers that are here as part of the Adelaide Fringe.

The first guy had a 6 metre pole that he got 4 people to hold with ropes and after getting several men and children out of the audience to make fun of he did the most amazing pole dance routine up this pole!!  I was watching the sunset out of the corner of my eye and once the huge ball of fire had dipped into the ocean we went in search of ice cream.  Bit stupid really as most of us were cold due to a rather nippy wind.  But we persevered and ice creams in hand (and cuddling up to Tracey who had foolishly not bought a cardie!) we watched the second guy who was a fire juggling escapologist!  He too did the usual humiliate the crowd thing, and what made both of them so funny was how politically incorrect they were!  Not a chance of that happening in front of 200 people in England!

So after he had got himself out of 40ft of chain and a straight jacket we headed back to the cars and home.

Wine tour to the McLaren Vale tomorrow, a fantastic way to end the weekend!

Night night x
